Capabilities
A full range of capabilities are available enabling Paxford Composites to work directly with their customers to produce the solutions they require.
The ability to work with the customer from first conception and prototyping through to production and volume manufacturing of composite components ensures complete satisfaction.
Specific competencies lie in the following areas:
Quality Assurance:
In-house inspection provides peace of mind that all manufactured components reach the highest standard before leaving the factory. Paxford Composites are BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100 accredited, certificate number FM28222. AS9100 is the quality system requirements for suppliers into the Aerospace industry, specifically the design and manufacture of components in reinforced plastic and advanced composite materials.
Project management:
We work closely with the customer to provide efficient progression of a specific project from the outset of a programme through to completion and sign off of the project.
Design:
The in-house design team assists the customer in a variety of specialised ways, from modification of an existing component to solve compatibility issues through to the design of tooling and structures to support a composite component production. A Faro arm is available for reverse engineering.
Pattern Making:
Skilled pattern makers use traditional methods to construct patterns to your requirements. Working with a number of local pattern making companies with 5-axis capability allows efficient use of resources and specific skill sets resulting in quality patterns enabling the manufacture of quality tooling. Using this facility allows quick turn around of patterns and does not limit size capability.
Mould / Tool Manufacture:
All tooling and jigs are designed and manufactured in-house ensuring consistent quality of product and enabling repair and secondary modification if required.
Component Manufacture:
Skilled production operatives allow constant production of quality components from wet/hand lay up through to prepreg lamination.
Assembly / Finishing:
Having full assembly, fitting and finishing facilities allows provision of complete finished components depending on your requirements.
Painting:
The dedicated paint shop ensures that components, large and small, are finished to the highest standards and colour matched for complete continuity. Various types of paint include Epoxy, Polyurethane (UVR) and Polyester.
